Why BTS’s J-Hope Suddenly Stopped Posting Aesthetic Polaroid Photos On Instagram😩.
The polaroids only lasted a few months.
BTS‘s J-Hope takes updating his fans seriously.
Along with the other BTS members, he opened his personal Instagram account on December 2021. On his page “uarmyhope,” he initially followed an aesthetic style of photos that were only taken using a polaroid camera. In an interview with Esquire, he explained his thought-process at the time.
" At first I wanted to do something special, so I started posting Polaroid pictures which I scanned myself. " 😚 — J-Hope
He suddenly stopped posting polaroid photos on February 17, 2022. His last photo was that of stones with the caption “HOMETOWN.”
According to him, it was difficult to maintain this posting style long-term. Because he had to take every photo using a polaroid camera, scan them himself, and then upload them online, he had to plan everything in advance.
"It wasn’t an easy process." 😩 — J-Hope
J-Hope stopped using this method when he realized that he wanted a less curated feed.
"Through SNS, I had many moments of my life that I wanted to share. But with the Polaroid feed, there were limits. So in order to share more of my life with you guys I stopped posting Polaroids and began to post regular feed." 😔 — J-Hope
Beginning February 26 of last year—only nine days after his last polaroid picture—he began posting borderless pictures on his Instagram feed.
Without the polaroid style of posting, J-Hope could now post more candid shots such as a backstage photo with Lady Gaga…
From December 2021 to February 2022, J-Hope had the polaroid Instagram feed for only around two months.
